Midnight Sun in Iceland

I just got back from the most magical trip to Iceland, and my heart feels so full. As many of you know, I’ve always had a deep love for travel. There’s just something about discovering new places that fills me with inspiration. In fact, part of the reason I enjoy owning Maggie Adams is to be able to travel for work, to explore style and culture around the world.
This trip was extra special. We were headed to Iceland for a family member’s wedding! But before the big celebration, Kristian and I arrived a few days early to take in the beauty of the country at our own pace. We stayed at the most stunning boutique hotel, perched right on the edge of geothermal waters. Picture this: natural hot tubs steaming against the backdrop of quiet mountains and misty springs. It was awesome!! I obviously packed my Farm Rio bathing suit because priorities…and yes, I was soaking it all in within a few hours of landing.
We hiked through some breathtaking landscapes, where the ground literally steamed beneath our feet from geothermal activity. At one point, we had a meal cooked entirely by geothermal heat. The food was earthy, rich, and full of flavor, they are known for their lamb.
After a few days of exploring, it was time for the main event: the wedding. The couple chose the most cinematic setting next to a moody, roaring waterfall that felt straight out of a film. Guests were asked to wear black. I went with a Rails halter neck dress that had a sheer bottom lining it was romantic but modern. And because Iceland’s weather loves to keep you guessing, I wrapped up in my black cashmere Chan Luu wrap for warmth. (Let this be your reminder: always pack layers when traveling.)
The wedding itself was absolutely beautiful. There’s something about being in another country, surrounded by family, all there to celebrate love. We danced until morning because, fun fact: the sun doesn’t actually set this time of year in Iceland. The sky just hangs in this soft golden light, like it’s holding space for every moment to stretch a little longer.
I came home with a full heart, an inspired mind, and a camera roll that’s going to be hard to beat!
Until the next adventure 💫
